Let’s talk blog. Schenectady is welcoming Mexican Radio to 7,000 people already. After spending four years and $4 million, the locally owned Mexican Radio restaurant group is preparing to open its third location, at Broadway and State Street in Schenectady. A little history about Mexican Redio. Over the past 18 years, it has evolved from a 600 sq.ft cheerful shoebox on upper Mulberry Street in New York City to the recent acquisition of the 22,000 square foot, green and yellow Imperial Building at 325 State Street in downtown Schenectady.
Mexican Radio continues to win awards including Best Mexican Restaurant, Best Margaritas and Best Flan in America.
It is connected to three brick buildings, Mexican Radio’s third full bar and upstairs private events room are located in the back of the building. The restaurant is now open with approximately 80 employees and the capacity to hold more than 500 people. It is three times larger than Mexican Radio’s Hudson location and eight times bigger than the company’s Manhattan restaurant.
Lori Seldon, the owner states “We love downtown Schenectady, we love downtowns in general, our NYC location is downtown, Hudson is in the downtown, we’re all about redeveloping downtowns,”. The Select Homes Team and Mexican Radio have the same mindset. We love redeveloping towns into homes!
